Ooooof. The way I feel about this New Year Resolution is similar to how my nephew described my cooking when he was here for a week.
“It’s kinda good…and It’s kinda not.”
It would be better, more comfortable, and peaceful here if more time was spent on organizing…and chores in general. I did have a thought yesterday and was talking to my husband about how, when the kids were littler, we used to have this chore jar.
The chore jar was made out of an old coffee container. I drew pictures of all the chores I could think of: folding clothes, sweeping, mopping, taking out the garbage…you get it 🙂 Then, one of the kids would shake up the container with the lid on. And draw without looking. That way, you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.
Side story: I was walking out of the YMCA once, when my son was 2 years old. We saw this other little kid being carried out by his parent. The kid was crying and the parent said, “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.”
My son liked that very much for some reason. He just sat in his car seat repeating, “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit” the entire way home smiling and laughing and kicking his little legs.
Happy Friday!
Also, I saw my shadow and winter is going to last until mid-April. Sorry, that’s how it works!!!!
Love,
